What's new

1.0.3 · 7 October 2026

A stricter licence check.

  • The direct edition checks its signed licence on its own, including the Mac's clock, so setting the date back does not keep an expired check working.
  • An unfinished Super Agents experiment was removed. It was never one of the tools listed on this site.
  • No new tools in this release. The direct edition still has 19.
1.0.2 · 4 October 2026

Now on Intel Macs too.

  • NotchBuddy is now a universal app: it runs natively on Intel Macs as well as on Apple silicon. On a Mac without a notch, it sits as a small black pill at the top centre of the screen.
1.0.1 · 25 September 2026

The panel stays while you work.

  • The panel no longer folds away while you're in the middle of something: typing, connecting a revenue provider (go copy the key from your browser, it'll still be there), adding a link or reminder, resizing an image, picking a colour, choosing from a menu or date picker, or dragging.
  • Esc goes back one step; at Home it folds the panel.
  • When the panel folds, your keyboard goes straight back to the app you were in.
  • A reminder that fires shows in the notch (Done / Snooze) without taking the keyboard from what you're typing.
  • The panel stays on its display while it's open, even if your pointer moves to another screen.
  • Clipboard history keeps recording while the panel is closed (password-manager copies are still never saved).
  • Turning off the ⌃⌥Space shortcut no longer disables the menu bar items and links that open NotchBuddy.

Hello, notch.

  • Five pets that live in your notch: Pebble, Pip, Orbit, Moss and Ember, each with its own walk, hop, float or waddle.
  • Home panel on hover: focus in one click, what's next, every tool one click away.
  • Nineteen tools: Music, Focus, Reminders, Notes, Scratchpad, Clipboard, Shelf with AirDrop, Apps, Images, Links, Calendar, Sounds, Stats, Units, Emoji, Colors, Mirror, Pets and Revenue (Stripe, RevenueCat, Lemon Squeezy, Polar, Paddle, Dodo Payments, Gumroad and App Store Connect).
  • The notch reacts: rain, waves, a focus progress line, naps.
  • Five themes: Graphite, Frost, Midnight, Sage, Ember.
  • ⌃⌥Space opens NotchBuddy from anywhere.
